Dear friends and fellow devotees:

Hare Krishna. Friday, October 12th, we met with the City of Escondido engineering and planning departments. The result was that they accepted the re-submittal of the site and grading plans along with the parcel map for the new temple project. This is big news because it means that now the clock is officially ticking towards when we can begin construction. It should take about four months for the above plans to go through the various review steps required. This means that sometime between mid-Feb. and mid-March of next year (2008) we will finally be able to begin construction on the new temple project.

I am leaving for India on Thurs. October 18th with our architect to pull together the shop drawings for the carved stone. We will return with these, drop them into the building plans, and submit those to the City by the end of November of this year. This means that as soon as the grading of the site is finished, we can start the construction of the building itself.

Again, this is very good news and a major milestone. It would not have happened without your support and prayers and the direct mercy of Shri Shri Radha-Giridhari.

Krishna has been doing His part. He revealed the perfect site for the temple (now paid for in full). Now it is time for us to do our part. On the battlefield of Kuruksetra, from the Mahabharat, Krishna assured Arjuna of success. But Arjuna had to do his part and fight. We need everyones help to complete this noble project. Success is assured, by Krishnas grace, but we all have the great good fortune to play our part.
